Victoria “Tori” Frye

MSE, LPCC

Therapist

Tori (she/her) views psychotherapy as a dynamic process of unlocking our innate wisdom and coming home to ourselves; a journey of reclaiming and ‘re-membering’ our inner compass. She believes that when one feels stuck, regaining momentum requires an attuned relationship within a safe container and that this connection to our inner guide is natural to our common humanity and wiring as social creatures. The individual or group therapy that Tori aims to provide supports this reconnection to our essential wholeness and wellspring nutrients of respectful relationship, both interpersonally and within oneself. Her clinical areas of focus are working with adults to manage stress, mood dysregulation, eating disorders, chronic shame, and trauma and attachment injury healing.

Meeting clients within an inclusive, weight neutral, and Health at Every Size® paradigm is paramount to Tori. This approach is supported by offering the framework of Intuitive Eating (as a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor). Additionally, Tori brings the lens of shame resiliency as a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, has completed Level 1 and Level 2 of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training, is EMDR trained through EMDRIA, is a Behavioral Tech intensively trained DBT therapist and part of a State of Minnesota certified DBT team within The Emily Program, has taught Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) since 2007 and a Qualified MBSR Teacher through UMass Medical’s Center for Mindfulness, and has completed Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher Training with program developers Kristin Neff and Chris Germer. She also feels nourished by quality time spent with her long-time best friend/husband. Additionally, time spent with friends and multiple generations of family, her dog and cat, biking on vacations with family and friends, practicing yoga and meditation, listening to podcasts, or spending time gardening the few months of the year that Minnesota weather permits is also golden. Psychotherapy is an encore career for Tori; previous enlightening life experience includes time spent as a stay-at-home mom and director of a humane society.
