Profile

Shania Vaupel

Therapist

Shania (she/her) has a deep passion for helping clients through their recovery journey. After witnessing her mother struggle with an eating disorder, and having struggled with disordered and other eating disorder behaviors herself, Shania knows firsthand how overwhelming and scary recovery can feel. Thus, her goal as a therapist is to provide her clients with the most supportive, inclusive, and safe environment. While working with Shania, you can expect to have the space to feel seen, heard, and validated.

In practice, Shania pulls from DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) theories. She recognizes that each person’s journey through recovery is unique and should be treated as such. Her top priority is developing the best plan to support her clients through their recovery and meet them where they are in the process.

Shania is a practicum student at Walden University, studying to earn her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Following graduation, she plans to obtain her LLPC. Shania currently also works as an Eating Disorder Technician at The Emily Program, supporting adolescents in residential care. Outside of the office, you can find her spending time outdoors (when Minnesota weather permits), expressing her artistic creativity through various arts and crafts hobbies, reading a good book, and spending time with her friends, family, husband, and pets.
