Hello, happy you are here! I am Sammi, A Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. I work with higher level of care clients as a lead therapist as well as our outpatient clients in office or virtual. I have experience with all ages and a variety of settings but tend to gravitate towards young adults. I completed my master’s of Adlerian Counseling and Psychology with an emphasis in Art Therapy at Adler Graduate School here in Minnesota. I began my post graduate work in a school setting to support high schoolers with individual and group therapy. I later developed my love for working with eating disorders and transitioned to The Emily Program. I have loved learning and growing here ever since.
I believe that therapy is a great tool to help discover our underlying psychological beliefs that contribute to our daily thoughts and actions that affect our overall mental health. Supporting all aspects of the individual is important to me, as I believe you are the expert in your own life. My approach pulls from an Adlerian background and encompasses trauma informed care and art therapy. Each person has a unique journey. It is my priority to meet you wherever you are at and provide a supportive collaboration to increase self-understanding through growth, accountability, and healing.
Outside of the office, you will find me out and about on an outdoor adventure with family and friends or at home with my dog and cats curled up behind a good book or movie. I enjoy spending time with oil paints and ceramics, along with any classic arts and crafts or home renovation projects.
