Summer Willingham

Summer Willingham

Summer is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, including ARFID, as well as co-occurring mental health concerns. She takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach, tailoring treatment to meet the individual needs and goals of her clients. Summer understands that meaningful change often involves more than just the individual, and she works to incorporate support systems into treatment when appropriate.

She utilizes various therapeutic frameworks, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), family-based treatment (FBT), person-centered therapy, and play therapy. Summer has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient levels of care. In addition to eating disorders, she has worked with a range of mental health concerns, particularly anxiety, trauma-related disorders, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Summer considers it a true privilege to work alongside someone as they go through the therapy process and recognizes the courage it takes to practice vulnerability in this way. She makes it a priority to build trust with empathy and validation and create an environment that fosters openness and honesty.

She’d be honored to join you in this next step.
