Chris Frye’s (she/her) clients describe her as a calm, compassionate, and direct therapist who is composed in her approach to treatment and effectively incorporates humor as appropriate. She is authentic, genuinely engaged, and welcomes and values differences with an attitude of openness. Chris draws on numerous evidence-based interventions based on client needs, striving for a collaborative therapeutic relationship that is supportive and puts the goals of the client first.
Chris completed her Master of Clinical Social Work degree at Augsburg University with a multicultural focus. She is also a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor with the Minnesota Board of Social Work. Before joining Gather Behavioral Health, Chris worked with clients struggling with medical complications, including chronic illness, hospice care/end-of-life planning, bereavement, and grief counseling. Chris particularly enjoys using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness therapies.
Away from work, Chris enjoys spending time with her partner and children, practicing yoga, cooking, traveling, and getting outdoors to discover the most that each season has to offer.
